These Tiny Waiting Nameko Mushroom Gashapon Figures Are Dangerously Cute — All 5 You Need to Collect! 🍄

Okay, fellow collectors — drop everything right now because Bandai just announced something that’s hitting way harder than it has any right to. The legendary Nameko Saibai Kit (Nameko Mushroom cultivation game) is getting its very own Gashapon figure series, and the theme? “Machibo-ke” — which translates roughly to “waiting around” or “stood up while waiting.” And honestly? That melancholic little sitting pose energy is sending me. 😭🍄

What Is Nameko Saibai Kit?

If you grew up in the mobile gaming era in Japan, you KNOW Nameko. Nameko Saibai Kit (also known as “Mushroom Garden” in the West) was THE addictive mobile game where you cultivated adorable little mushroom characters and harvested them. These little guys became a full-blown pop culture phenomenon in Japan, spawning merch, plushies, and now — Gashapon capsule figures. 🎉

The “Machibo-ke” Gashapon Series — What’s the Concept?

This is where Bandai absolutely cooked. The “Machibo-ke” series captures the Nameko characters in their most relatable state — sitting down, patiently waiting to be harvested, radiating that quiet, melancholic “I’ve been here forever” energy. The concept is genius: line them up on your desk and it literally looks like your own little Nameko cultivation kit IRL. Your shelf becomes the game. 🤯

The sitting poses are ridiculously charming, and the detail packed into these tiny capsule figures is something else entirely.

Full Lineup — All 5 Characters Revealed 🍄

Here’s the complete roster dropping in this series:

• 🍄 Nameko — The OG himself. Classic orange mushroom cap, sitting peacefully. Pure serotonin.
• 🍄 Kare Nameko (Withered Nameko) — The dried-up, slightly sad variant. Devastatingly relatable.
• 🍄 Masaru — The big boy of the group. Absolute unit energy even while sitting.
• 🍄 Neko Nameko (Cat Nameko) — A CAT. But also a mushroom. This is peak Japan and we are HERE for it. 🐱
• 🍄 Genshi Nameko (Primitive Nameko) — The prehistoric caveman mushroom. Chaotic and perfect.

Five variants. Five reasons to drain your capsule machine budget. The collector completionist brain is screaming.

Why You Absolutely Cannot Sleep on These 😤

Listen — ¥300 per pull for figures this charming? That’s an insane value proposition. The “Machibo-ke” sitting pose concept is genuinely one of the most creative Gashapon themes we’ve seen this year. The fact that displaying them together recreates the in-game cultivation kit aesthetic is the kind of big-brain design thinking that separates good merch from legendary merch.

Neko Nameko alone is worth tracking down every capsule machine in Akihabara for. And Kare Nameko’s withered little existence? That’s my spirit animal and I will not be taking questions.

If you’re a fan of cute Japanese character merch, Gashapon collecting, or you just have a soft spot for nostalgic mobile game IPs — this set is a must-grab. The FOMO is real and it is coming for you in late August 2026. 🍄🔥
