Gotham Just Got a New Shadow — And She’s Gorgeous 😤🔥
Yo, collectors. Drop everything. Medicom Toy just announced the MAFEX Batgirl RECOLLECTION Ver. based on the legendary Batman: HUSH storyline, and this thing is an absolute jaw-dropper. Whether you’re a die-hard DC fan, a MAFEX completionist, or just someone who appreciates elite-tier Japanese figure craftsmanship — this announcement is for YOU.
We’re talking about Barbara Gordon in her full Batgirl glory. Not Oracle. Not the info-broker behind the screen. Batgirl — in action, in the cape, ready to patrol the rooftops of Gotham. The RECOLLECTION Ver. label means Medicom is diving deep into beloved source material to give us a figure that hits different on a nostalgia level, and Batman: HUSH is arguably one of the greatest Batman storylines ever told. Having Batgirl immortalized from that arc? Chef’s kiss. 👌
What Makes This MAFEX Figure an Instant Grail? 🏆
Let’s break down why this figure is already on every serious collector’s radar:
Sculpt & Form That Slaps
The MAFEX series is renowned for striking that rare sweet spot between incredible sculpt fidelity and top-tier articulation, and this Batgirl is no exception. Standing at approximately 15cm tall, she’s compact but absolutely loaded with detail. The suit design faithfully captures her Batman: HUSH animated appearance — sleek, dark, and unmistakably iconic.
Two Head Sculpts for Maximum Expression 😮
This is where things get extra spicy. The figure comes with two interchangeable head parts — a closed-mouth serious expression for those brooding detective poses, and an open-mouth smiling expression for dynamic action scenes. Swapping between them lets you tell completely different stories on your shelf. That’s the kind of attention to detail that separates MAFEX from the competition.
Full-Body Articulation for Insane Action Poses 💥
Every single joint on this figure moves. We’re talking full-body articulation that lets you recreate basically any pose you can dream up. And to make sure those dynamic poses actually stay dynamic, the figure comes with a poseable figure stand included right in the box. No janky balancing acts on your shelf — just clean, stable, display-ready action.
Grappling Hook for Wire-Action Poses 🪝
YES. A grappling hook is included, letting you set up those dramatic swinging-across-Gotham poses that look absolutely cinematic on a display. If you’ve got a Batman or other Bat-family MAFEX figures already, the diorama potential here is off the charts.
Batarangs x2 for Combat Poses 🦇
Two Batarangs are included as throwable accessory props, so you can pose her mid-throw in a full combat stance. Combined with the grappling hook and the articulated stand, the posing options are essentially limitless.
Wire-Frame Fabric Cape — An Underrated Flex 🌊
One of the sneaky best features? The cape is made of fabric with a wire frame inside, meaning you can actually shape and bend it to match whatever pose you’ve got her in. Dynamic wind-swept cape? Done. Dramatic flowing silhouette? Easy. This is a premium touch that makes a MASSIVE difference in how the figure looks in photos and on display.
Sculptor Credits & Production Quality 🎨
The sculpt was handled by the dream team of okan, 形屋参太朗 (Kataya Santaro), and PERFECT-STUDIO — names that any serious MAFEX collector will immediately recognize as a mark of quality. When you see that lineup on the credits, you KNOW the final product is going to be exceptional.
