The Ultimate Digimon Fan Service Is HERE 🎉
Okay, Digidestined — strap in, because Toei Animation just dropped the most nostalgia-packed announcement of 2026 and we are absolutely not okay. If you grew up watching kids get sucked into a digital world with their monster partners, this one hits different.
“Bokura ga Eranda Best Adventure” (僕らが選んだベストアドベンチャー) — translating roughly to “The Best Adventure WE Chose” — is an upcoming TV broadcast special that is literally fan-voted. As in, Digimon fans from across the entire world got to decide which episodes from four classic series would make the cut. Democracy has never been more powerful. 🗳️
What Is This Broadcast Special, Exactly? 📺
Toei Animation is celebrating Digimon’s 30th anniversary with this as its first major commemorative project, and it is already shaping up to be legendary. Here’s the breakdown:
The fan vote — titled “World-Selected Best Episode Vote for 4 Digimon Anime Series” — covered the original four back-to-back TV series that defined the golden era of Digimon:
- Digimon Adventure
- Digimon Adventure 02
- Digimon Tamers
- Digimon Frontier
Fans worldwide submitted their votes, and the top-ranked episodes from each series were selected for broadcast. These aren’t random filler eps — these are the fan-certified, globally-crowned best moments in Digimon history. 👑
When Does It Air? 🗓️
Mark your calendars and set every alarm you have:
📅 October 4, 2026 (Sunday)
📡 Fuji TV and other networks
⏰ Every Sunday at 9:00 AM JST
The first two series to air starting October 4th are:
- Digimon Adventure — the OG series that started it ALL
- Digimon Tamers — which is also celebrating its 25th anniversary this year 🎊
As for Digimon Adventure 02 and Digimon Frontier broadcast dates? Toei has confirmed those will be announced at a later date — so stay locked in. 👀
The Opening Theme Has a LEGENDARY Team Behind It 🎵
This is where things go from exciting to absolutely goosebump-inducing. The opening theme for “Best Adventure” is being performed and produced by what can only be described as a Digimon dream squad:
Vocalists:
- Ayumi Miyazaki — the iconic voice behind “Brave Heart” from Digimon Adventure 🔥
- Takayoshi Tanimoto — the powerhouse who sang “One Vision” from Digimon Tamers
Songwriter & Composer:
- Hiroshi Yamada — lyricist behind countless Digimon tracks including “Break up! & Beat Hit!” from Adventure 02
- Michihiko Ohta — composer who worked on OPs and insert songs across all four series, including the legendary “FIRE!!” from Digimon Frontier
This is not a cash-grab reunion. This is the real deal — the actual creative legends who built the sonic identity of classic Digimon, coming back together to give this 30th anniversary broadcast the sendoff it deserves. 🙌 Full track details are still to be announced, but honestly? We’re already hyped beyond words.
Why This Matters for Fans Outside Japan 🌏
Let’s be real — you voted for this. The fan poll was global, which means the episodes airing in Japan were shaped by the passion of international Digimon fans just as much as domestic ones. This broadcast is a love letter to every fan who ever cried at Agumon’s evolution, felt their heart break in Tamers, or screamed at their screen during Frontier’s Spirit Evolution sequences.
Even if you’re not in Japan to catch the Sunday morning broadcast live, this announcement signals that Digimon’s 30th anniversary is being taken seriously — and that means merch, events, and more content are almost certainly incoming. 👁️
